Meet Panchor, an adult female Malayan tapir rescued from Kampung Panchor in 2020 after being caught in a snare trap. The wire caused a deep wound on her right foot, leading to swelling and recurring infection. After a long surgery to remove the snare, Panchor continued her recovery under the care of dedicated veterinarians. In this video, the PERHILITAN and Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) veterinary teams perform wound cleaning to manage the swelling and pus buildup — a reminder of the cruelty of snare traps and the importance of wildlife rescue work. 🎥 Featuring: Dr. Donny Yawah, Dr Charisha, Dr Zubaidah: the joint PERHILITAN–LWOT Vet Team 🦣 Let’s raise awareness to end snaring and protect Malaysia’s wildlife. #SaveTheTapir #StopSnaring #WildlifeConservation #education #wildliferescue --------------- Educational and awareness content Disclaimer: This video contains veterinary footage showing wound cleaning and treatment of a Malayan tapir that was rescued from a snare trap.
