On my last weekend trip before I return home, I went to NamHae Island, a province south of Seoul and close to Yeosu. I spent 3 days and 2 night there. On the first day, we were picked up the night before and spent the whole night driving down. Our first destination was Mount Geumsan. I didn't participate in the hike because it was too early for me and I'm not an active person. I believe we got there around 4am-ish. Instead of hiking, myself and some other people from the tour group, we went to do some exploring around Sangju Beach. Sangju Beach was also our second destination. After that, we went straight to German Village for some sightseeing and lunch. Tried German beer there and I did not like it. It tasted bitter. Afterwards, we checked in at our homestay in Darangee Village, a village full of elders and right by the ocean. After checking in, we change clothes to do snorkeling and bare-hand fishing before finishing the day with lantern walking and Samulnori. Samulnori are traditional Korean instruments. It was a jam packed first day. The second day, we weren't so lucky. It was rainy all day. The second day was meant for our water activities like kayaking, deep-sea fishing, and more snorkeling. But because it was raining, all the activities were pushed back to the next day but, deep-sea fishing was cancel. Instead we spent the day driving around NamHae and ended the day with game night and noraebang! On our last day, it was a beautiful clear day. After breakfast, we packed up and left to do our kayak activity that was pushed back. Lastly, we finished the trip with Korean BBQ before heading back up to Seoul. All in all, I was glad I went on this trip! I did so many activities and meet so many people! It sucks that it was rainy but, I enjoyed the rain while in the countryside. It was really calming and stress-free. I'm glad I chose to end my weekend trips in South Korea with this trip! I'm hoping to go back to Korea as a tourist and not a student once I graduate! Thank you for reading this far!
