Re-activating your professional network acts as enabler for finding new opportunities post career break It's not all negative about career break – one can leverage the same to re-skill, up-skill, and re-enter the workplace after attending to one's life priority ranging from care giving, education, health issues etc It's important to present the career break honestly and positively, highlighting what one has learned and skill development has been during the break. There can be an adverse impact on pay levels for returning employees. Starting with an internship/trial phase can help both the employee and the employers find comfort and alignment and may help a fair pay fixation Training hiring managers will go a long way in reducing stereotypes and biases against candidates on career break Returning employees also need to assess what they can effectively contribute to their future employer. The discussion also covered the importance of providing clear career pathways and growth opportunities for returnees.
