Steve gives us a breakdown of this really cool 1970 Ford Boss 302 Mustang that will be auctioned off by Richmond Auctions Oct 24-25. You can register at bid.richmondauctions.com. Here is a description of this lot: No Reserve. As the Pony Car wars heated up, SCCA's 1970 Tran Am racing season was a hotbed for Mustangs, Camaros, 'Cudas, Challengers, and Javelins trading paint and fighting it out for championships. It also forces Detroit's automakers to build street versions of these race cars, and this rare 1970 Boss 302 Mustang is a great example of when Ford pulled out all the stops to link their on-track success to showroom sales. The car underwent a full restoration and currently shows 21,000 original miles. Powered by the infamous Boss 302 V8 with its carnivorous cylinder heads and solid lifter camshaft and fuel-gulping Holley carburetor, the Boss 302 was a slightly tamed-down version of its race-bred relative. This Boss 302 has only 20,181 miles and checks all the right option boxes. From its Shaker hood, Rear Deck Spoiler, Rear Window Sport Slats, these all contrast nicely with the Grabber Yellow paint. Along with the four-speed transmission, Detroit Locker Rear Differential with 4.30:1 ring and pinion, and 15-inch chrome Magnum wheels rolling on Goodyear Polyglas tires, this Mustang moves out like a Boss! This car has all the paperwork from Ford, including the build sheet, window sticker and is well documented. VIN: 0F02G175145. #boss302 #ford #fordmustang #carauction #carauctions #scca
