There were many long arcane digressions, so this is edited. The entire interview is coming. Steven is one of our favorite guests ever. NOTE from Noam: Destiny (@TheOmniLiberal ) and I debated whether Trump intended to incite violence on 1/6. I made three arguments to him. 1. That if Trump intended to join the protesters ("And I'll be there with you") it was unlikely he envisaged being involved in (or leading!) a violent attack on the Senate. 2. If the matter would eventually wind up before the Supreme Court, no decision could be upheld if it were made under the threat of physical intimidation. I.e., the planned cynical legal case could only survive if the decision not to certify (etc.) was made through deliberation. A decision made at gun point could not be upheld by a court. 3. Giuliani's speech had specifically laid out a legal strategy that involved 10 days of procedural "combat". Destiny agreed that Trump intended to join the protesters but that the Secret Service had vetoed his plans.
