Designed for Bicycle Priority – Eastern Baana Route || Here in Helsinki

The latest section of Eastern Baana (Itäbaana / Östra banan) opened in 2025, creating a shortcut from Kulosaari Boulevard cycle street toward Herttoniemi Metro Station. The 1 km route includes a bicycle roundabout and a new bridge over the previous alignment along a busy road. From the roundabout, Eastern Baana continues east with a 4-metre-wide cycle path and a separated pedestrian path alongside the metro. The end of the section has been upgraded from a service road into a slow-traffic local street, from where the route will continue further east.
