In this episode, learn monoprinting and block printing inspired by the mystical Tibetan Dalai Lama cape and ornate Japanese Jubako food box from our collections. Monoprinting is a fantastic way to create multiple, quick, atmospheric artworks and block printing will complement the spirals and flower patterns found in our chosen objects. Once you have created your block to print you can use this again and again to create different effects. Watch this video to learn a little about our most exotic collections and how they can inspire you to get printing. To create your monoprints you will need: White (printer) paper A piece of acetate/ plastic/ an old plastic folder (anything plastic and flat you can roll ink onto) Printing roller (I am using a 10cm wide roller) 1 tube of block printing ink (this ink is for printing and will stay wet for longer on your plastic, whilst washing off easily afterwards) Pencil To create your printing blocks you will need: 1 piece of cardboard, any size you like (and even from your recycling bin!) - in this video, we've used a piece 10 by 15cm 1 piece of craft foam (or a foam pizza base packaging if you have one) Scissors Glue stick You can buy these from: https://www.specialistcrafts.co.uk/ https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/
