Santa Fe’s Historic Eastside is one of the city’s most iconic — and most misunderstood — areas. In this video, I’m sharing a big-picture overview of the Historic Eastside, located just east of the Santa Fe Plaza, and explaining why it’s not just one neighborhood, but a collection of smaller, equally charming communities. We’ll talk about areas like: Plaza-adjacent homes downtown Canyon Road and its world-famous galleries Palace Avenue and Cerro Gordo Acequia Madre and the quieter streets further south I’ll also share a bit of the history that shaped this area, why historic protections play such an important role in preserving property value, and what buyers should know about navigating renovations with the right team in place. One of the things that surprises many people is how much home values can vary within the Historic Eastside, sometimes even from one street to the next. Understanding those nuances is key — and it’s something I’m always happy to help explain. This video is the foundation for a deeper series where we’ll explore each of these micro-neighborhoods in more detail, so you can really get a feel for what life looks like in each part of Santa Fe’s Historic Eastside. If you love Santa Fe for its history, art, walkability, and quieter moments — this is a wonderful place to start. Thanks for being here.
