LENTIS Mplus - Unique IOL Varifocality 10 Years of exceptional visual performance. Presbyopia correction is arguably the holy grail of ophthalmic surgery. Various concepts and products have been used over the years to treat the condition, for a decade now, the rotational-asymmetric sector optics of the LENTIS Mplus lenses, have prevailed with high patient satisfaction through outstanding visual results up until today. The Mplus-Spin-Off LENTIS Comfort, introduced in 2012, created a new lens category with the introduction of extended depth of focus lenses. At that time, the Comfort was the only multifocal lens available with a near addition below 3.00 D. THE EDOF-concept was born. Although higher-powered lenses have always been considered the natural choice, because they provide the most natural reading distance, the higher power came at the cost of lower quality of vision and zones of decreased visual acuity along the defocus curve at that time.
