I've had these beautiful talavera pots for a long time and it was time to do something new and fresh in them. I love mexican pottery, especially the talavera style. I wanted to have a variety of plants in them, from succulents like the echeverias, pink variegated aeonium and tricolor sedums, to tropicals like bromeliads, variegated heliconia (not variegated bird of paradise) trailing vincas and justicias. "Talavera pottery was first introduced to Mexico in the 15th century by Spanish settlers and the craft was mastered in the village of Talavera de la Reina. Today, this earthenware ceramic pottery is produced in many regions of Mexico utilizing the techniques, skills and cultural influences attained over the centuries."
