Budget estimates for fy 2024/2025 shoots to 58.3 trillion - MPs question priorities

The Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among has asked for equal distribution of resources during the budget process. Among claims some leaders have lobbied to have their respective constituencies catered for than others which endangers service delivery. This comes after the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development revised the budget estimates for financial year 2024/2025 to the tune of 58.3 trillion away from the 52.7 trillion presented recently while tabling the National Budget Framework Paper. Some MPS questioned the priorities which triggered the resource envelope to the whooping figure of 58.3 trillion.
