Surfcasting magical Muriwai Part 2 - a hot morning snapper bite puts fish in the bin at last.

After a fun evening surfcasting then the decision to head home for a good night's sleep. I woke the next morning around 3.30am and made my way back out to Muriwai to fish the morning low tide. I decided to fish the same bank, due to where it sat close to the edge of a nice deepish channel. Also catching a couple snapper in it last night, I knew it held fish and there would be more for the taking. I flicked my first bait out as the sun made its way out of bed. It's a magic time to be on the beach surfcasting, the smell of fresh salt air and the sound of silence of the deafening west coast sea is the fisherman's dream. Muriwai is special but to be on it at this time of the day is very soulful. It didn't take long for my first fish to take interest in my bait and I was hooked up to my first fish of the morning. It was just the start of things to come for me that morning - all I can say is, it just got fishier and fishier.
