Emergency services are still on high alert in both the Eastern and Western Cape as wildfires rage on in several areas. In the Eastern Cape, blazes near Jeffreys Bay and surrounding parts of the Kouga Municipality have forced evacuations. The latest is that the N2 between Humansdorp and Jeffreys Bay has been reopened. Meanwhile crews in the Western Cape are battling multiple blazes amid hot, dry and windy conditions. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and follow safety instructions as firefighting operations continue.
