Travel video from a stay in Baška on the island of Krk, Croatia and other islands in the Kvarner bay. The entire movie was recorded using DJI Osmo Pocket and this is the first holiday movie I ever made. The film was shot in August 2019. Baška is a small town in the south-east of the island of Krk. It is one of the largest tourist resorts on the island thanks to one of the most beautiful beaches in the region - Vela plaža. For lovers of sunbathing without clothes, to the east of the city there is a campsite with a naturist beach - Bunculuka. In the off-season, the town has about 1,000 inhabitants, while during the season it is difficult to count the number of inhabitants and tourists. Baška is not only a town with a beautiful beach. There is a beautiful old town with narrow streets, a beautiful church and atmospheric taverns. For enthusiasts of active leisure and mountain climbing, there are hiking trails of various difficulty levels. In particular, I recommend the route leading to the Vela Luka beach - it is quite a demanding trail, but the way back can be taken by sea thanks to a water taxi. Near the Vela Luka beach, there is also a slightly smaller Mala Luka with picturesque ruins of buildings. In Baška, you can go on a day trip on a boat that sails around the surrounding islands for a small fee. The first stop is the island of Goli Otok with the ruins of a 20th century prison for political prisoners. It is a very harsh and hot island - there are almost no trees on it! Currently, the ruins of the prison are a tourist attraction and you can ride a tourist train all over the island. Then the ship sailed to the Island of Rab with a beautiful sandy Paradise beach. The water by the beach is very shallow, so you can go up to 100m from the shore and still have water to the middle of the waist. Attention! The water reaches very high temperatures here - over 30 degrees! After a few hours of rest, the coach takes tourists to the city and the island's capital - Rab, which is characterized by beautiful Venetian architecture. Characteristic for the city scenery are four church towers visible from afar and beautiful, narrow streets. It is worth going to this city on your own, because 2 hours spent in this city is definitely not enough! It is also worth going to the capital of the island - the city of Krk. It is the largest town on the island with a beautiful old town and a fort.
