Steps for Pasteurization: Boil a large pot of water. Decide how much substrate you need. If you have 4 colonized bags, you'll likely need half of the brick. Tip: Cutting the brick on the thin side is easier than cutting it on its face. Keep the wrapper on to contain the dust from cutting. Once the water is boiling, you will break up the brick and put it in the boiling water. Important: the coco coir will expand when you put it in the water so leave space in the pot for expansion. Reduce the heat in the pot to a low setting for an hour and then allow the pot to cool with the substrate and the water overnight. Once cooled, you can squeeze out any extra water from the substrate and measure out approximately 2 cups (or 2x) the amount of substrate to your colonized rice.
