Good morning everyone. This is G. Poojitha. Today I am going to show you how to write choreography script. Watch this video till the end. You can understand clearly. What is the choreography? Choreography is the art of designing sequences of movements or actions for a script or a poem with a voice or a song in background. Let’s see what topics involved in the choreography script: 1. Title (it should be written in bold letters.) 2. Theme of the poem {theme is that overall understanding of the poem. We have to write in brief manner} 3. The theme of the each stanza. (Stanza wise opinion in a brief manner.) 4. The characters (we have to mention the characters in the poem and should be mentioned the chorus) 5. The location takes place (we cannot show the location to the readers but we can say that the chorus enters the stage and poses themselves as kitchen/market like that). 6. Sequence of the actions: (we have to identify the instances from the real life. We should divide into scenes. It depends upon time, location and characters. ) 7. Message. (It is optional. Message is overall understanding of you about the poem.) Let’s see a poem from the 10th class text book for example: ANOTHER WOMAN This morning she bought green ‘methi’ in the market, choosing the freshest bunch; picked up a white radish, imagined the crunch it would make between her teeth, the sweet sharp taste, then put it aside, thinking it an extravagance, counted her coins out carefully, tied them, a small bundle into her sari at the waist; came home, faced her mother-in-law’s dark looks, took the leaves and chopped them, her hands stained yellow from the juice; Cut an onion, fine and cooked the whole thing in the pot over the stove, shielding her face from the heat. The usual words came and beat their wings against her: the money spent, curses heaped upon her parents, who had sent her out to darken other people’s doors. She crouched, as usual, on the floor beside the stove, When the man came home she did not look into his face nor raise her hand; but bent her back a little more. Nothing gave her the right to speak. She watched the flame hiss up and beat against the cheap old pot, a wing of brightness against its blackened cheek. This was the house she had been sent to, The man she had been bound to, the future she had been born into. So when the kerosene was thrown (just a moment of surprise, A brilliant spark) It was the only choice that she had ever known. Another torch, blazing in the dark. Another woman. We shield our faces from the heat. 1. Title: ANOTHER WOMAN 2. Theme of the poem: The domestic violence that is being experienced by woman in the present society. 3. Theme of the each stanza (sub themes): Stanza Theme First The house wife buys vegetables and minimises the expenditures thinking of her mother-in-law’s curses. She prepares the methi curry. Second The mother-in-law curses the house wife for spending money on vegetables and also curses her parents. Third The house wife sits obediently at the stove. She sits bending her head. The husband shows the indifferent nature towards her problems. Fourth Throwing of kerosene – the burning of the house wife. 4. Location: The market, kitchen, the house of the mother-in-law. 5. Characters: The house wife, the mother-in-law, the husband, the vendors. And 6 to 8 people to set the different locations and properties. 6. Sequence of actions: SCENE-I: The chorus team enters the stage, sets the market location and sings the poem three or four times to register the tune and rhythm. House wife buys green methi. She picks up a white radish and imagines the taste of it. She thinks it is an extravagance. She counts the coins and ties them a small bundle into her sari. The chorus move out from the stage. SCENE-II: The chorus team enters the stage, sets the kitchen and sings the poem. The housewife prepares the methi curry. Mother-in-law curses her for spending money on vegetables. She also curses the parents of the housewife for sending that girl who darkens their house. The housewife sits obediently on the floor beside the stove facing the heat of the stove. She does not raise her head even though her husband comes. The chorus move out from the stage. SCENE-III: The chorus team enters the stage, sets the kitchen and sings the poem. Kerosene is thrown on the house wife. A brilliant spark appears at the house. The housewife submits herself in to the hands of the flames since there is no option. The chorus move out from the stage with sad mood. 7. Message: The woman in the poem is representative of the whole women who are experiencing the same condition in the present society. We are turning off our faces from these harsh realities in the society. We should pay attention in such incidents. We should bring awareness in the people and in the society. In this poem if we observe, one woman was the enemy of another woman. #English_subject #10th_class #DISCOURSE #SSC
