As fístulas pós-cirurgia bariátrica ocorrem em cerca de 1% a 2% dos casos. Esta técnica de tratamento visa reduzir a necessidade de cirurgia nestes casos, diminuindo assim o risco de mortalidade, permitindo ao paciente ingerir líquidos pela boca em 24 horas bem como receber alta hospitalar também mais precocemente. Este tratamento endoscópico visa direcionar a secreção acumulada pela fístula na cavidade adjacente ao estômago operado para o interior deste (DRENAGEM INTERNA) através da secção do septo (SEPTOTOMIA) existente com argônio.
