Yorkshire Lavender

It was the first week in August and the weather was perfect to visit Yorkshire Lavender. It is situated on the Howardian Hills, not far from Castle Howard and has lovely views over the Vale of York. Apart from a level walk to the Visitor Centre & Cafe etc. it is all on quite steep slopes so that the lavender fields drain well and face maximum sunshine. It hadn’t been open long when I visited some years ago but what a change now! It is all free and a wonderful day out walking around the lavender and other flowers. There is a Visitor Centre, Plant Nursery, Gift Shop and a wonderful Tea Room with a good menu that includes tasty lavender flavoured cakes and desserts! I still have the Lavender I purchased there years ago and I think it is well worth another visit next year. Hope you enjoy the walk around and view in HD if possible.
