This game showcases how high level players transition from a solid opening into an equal middlegame and play positional maneuvers to create imbalances. My opponent and I follow simple opening ideas and principles which leads to an equal opening. From there we maneuver our pieces to more active squares, avoiding premature pawn breaks and vulnerabilities, and eventually one of us cracks which leads to an advantage for white. From there, I work on converting a winning edge to an endgame and secure a checkmate. Lessons: -Follow opening principles and ideas will leads to strong positions to transition into the middlegame. -Maneuvering pieces into active squares and coordinating pieces will lead to being able to pounce on any mistake or misstep by your opponent. -Maintaining an advantage and converting to a winning endgame takes careful planning and never letting off the gas after an advantage is secured.
