Brought a 15 x 42 summer escapes pool last summer. Set it up and quickly discovered that filters are required about every 3 - 5 days, the pump barely circulates the water, and chemicals are not fun. Also learned not to set it up on grass or even a tarp on grass. Tore it down and prepared a 16 ' diameter base by digging away grass ( as you can see in the pic/ vid, the pool sits below the grass line on the one side. That is because I dug away the ground to make the pool base level and the garden edge things act as a retaining wall)., leveling and tampering dirt, laying weed block, filling with at least a couple inches of sand with garden edging to hold sand in place. Tampered sand, leveled sand, and set up pool. Brought intex pump and rigged it to work. Used chemicals the first year. Second year, brought intex salt water system, intex valves, hoses, real pool vac head and pole as well as intex light. Sooo much better than stock. Have about 650.00 invested in everything, getting things on sale of season. Can't stress the importance of leveling the ground and the pool. Use a level when adjusting the legs. Unfold the pool liner with two people and avoid divits in the sand. Once you have 3500 gallons of water in there, any imperfection will stay and not be able to be adjusted. Smooth sand bottoms are really really nice! Also, I highly recommend tearing it down at the end of season and storing everything inside. Allows prolonged life of pool and you to fine tune the setup after you learn what not to do. Hope you find the vid helpful- give a thumbs up if you do! :) Also the extension cord is a harbor freight 10 gauge 100 foot plugged to a covered GFI outlet on a 20 amp breaker.
