Hopefully this one is useful for someone - i think i cover everything lol) Humanoid Animator Compatible, with multiple armatures and root motion. Why do this? You can have one top-level 'animator' inside unity, that uses one 'animation clip'. This one animation clip, can be used on a bunch of armatures imported from blender:. This works with root motion, so it travels through world space and everything stays lined up. You can swap out / switch on/off the different child objects in unity easily. You can also choose to export the armature-specific 'animation clips' individually. (clips contain only their own animation data, related to their own armature) This is shown here with a character with an animated weapon(s) - but in theory this could be used for different clothes, different hair styles.. a character + a mount, etc.
