Stop Waiting to Hear Back. Do This Instead. After an interview, the silence can be unsettling. You start asking yourself the same question over and over again. Should I follow up, or should I wait? And if I do follow up, when is the right time? Many candidates assume there is some universal rule they are supposed to follow. They worry about seeming impatient, aggressive, or desperate. At the same time, doing nothing can feel passive and powerless. That tension creates hesitation, and hesitation often costs people opportunities. The reality is that communication during a hiring process is not just about courtesy. It is about positioning. The way you choose to respond, the timing of that response, and the method you use all send signals about your confidence, professionalism, and level of interest. Those signals matter more than most people realize. There is also a practical dimension to consider. Relying solely on email can create distance. Tone gets lost. Intent can be misread. Enthusiasm can disappear between lines of text. Direct communication, handled properly, can change how you are perceived and how the process unfolds. At the same time, no single employer should control your momentum. While you are waiting, your broader job search should continue moving forward. Knowing how to balance initiative with professionalism is a skill, and it separates reactive candidates from strategic ones. If you are navigating interviews and unsure about the right move, this discussion will help you think more clearly about timing, communication, and how to stand out without overstepping. **My GET HIRED Course** https://the-companies-expert-academy....
