Mangaluru: Water ambulance launched in Ullal to aid fishermen in distress

Fishermen’s associations in Ullal, near Mangaluru, have launched a water ambulance at the Netravati River to provide emergency medical support to fishermen in distress. Funded privately, the boat is equipped with sirens, first-aid kits, oxygen cylinders, fire extinguishers, stretchers, life jackets, and other emergency gear. An alert crew responds to distress calls, while local ambulances are simultaneously notified, ensuring rescued individuals receive immediate medical attention onshore. The initiative addresses urgent safety needs for fishermen, aiming to prevent loss of life during accidents at sea or on the river.
