In the 70's Macgregor released an enhancement to their usual 'tone' button range - the "Codamac". This automagically did all the necessary timing for right, left, kick-up elevator and quick-blip throttle, so to go left, you pressed the toggle left. To go right, you pressed it right. Nowadays this sounds so obvious but at the time it was an absolute revelation! Staveley Controls also released a "Coder" set, and soon external electronic and mechanical coders started to appear as add-ons to other transmitters. This project is an optional Coder for my 2.4g S/C outfit. You simply move the front panel connection from the encoder to the Coder input, then plug the Coder output to the encoder. It is easily fitted and removed at will. Of course it has a pass-through function for any configuration changes, so setting up is exactly the same as for a button-controlled encoder. The radio link used in this example is the new Corona 2-way Telemetry outfit, only because I have one on beta test - almost any 2.4g module or DIY hack will work. We have had no prob;lems with Corona and Frsky DIY modules. Now, although this works perfectly and is an accurate representation of those sets from the 1970's, I dont really like it and prefer the manual button. It seems like cheating to me! But for those who had a Codamac and would like to relive those fading memories... here you go. Cheers Phil
