“Did Jesus (peace be upon him) ever say ‘I am God, worship me’?” In Islam, Jesus (Isa, peace be upon him) was a prophet and servant of Allah, not God. He taught the worship of Allah alone. The Quran clarifies: Surah Al-Ma’idah [5:72]: “They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary’…” Surah Al-Ma’idah [5:75]: “The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; so were the messengers before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth…” Islam teaches that Jesus brought the message of Allah, performed miracles by Allah’s permission, and never claimed divinity.
