Plum Canyon Off-Roading | Easy Desert Trail Near Banner, CA This week on the show, we explore Plum Canyon, one of the closest off-road trails east of Banner along State Route 78. If you're looking for a quick dirt road escape without needing a lifted Jeep or a winch, this one's for you. Plum Canyon is a short, beginner-friendly trail nestled in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It’s perfect for a casual drive, a scenic stop, or a quick detour before heading over the mountains. You’ll find: Easy terrain for most vehicles A few soft sand spots (watch where you pull over!) Trail forks leading to hiking routes and nature preserves Desert blooms, ghost trees, and an occasional lizard Elevation gain with great views of SR-78 below Location: East of Banner, CA Coordinates: 33.12949, -116.42512 Vehicle: Any car with decent clearance Difficulty: 1/10 (or 0.5 if you're feeling bold) Season: Best from November to April Watch out for: Soft sand, pinstripes (if you're not careful), and desert heat Activities: Off-roading, hiking, chilling, and wondering what a “tine” of a trail fork is This might be a “filler episode,” but it’s full of charm, desert vibes, and a reminder that not every off-road adventure needs to be extreme. Sometimes, it’s just rad to be out there. #PlumCanyon #AnzaBorrego #OffRoading #BeginnerTrail #CaliforniaDesert #OutdoorBoys #4x4 #Overlanding4x4
