Eldar Djangirov (synthesizers) Ludwig Afonso (drums) Performing Eldar's composition "Bloom" November 2, 2019 live at Chris' Jazz Cafe (Philadelphia, PA) Video: Kevin Eikenberg (Four/Ten Media) Recorded by: Yi-Wen Lai-Tremewan Mixed by: Eldar Djangirov Mastered by: Mike Tierney A few years ago I did an all keyboard video under the project name Key Madness Duo. We recently had a show where I wanted to experiment with the idea of doing an electric project playing on a keyboard rig with drums. Everything here is done totally live. The main challenge is to play the bass lines in the left hand while keeping the melodic and harmonic information in the right hand between the various keyboard patches (electric piano and lead synth). This was sort of like splitting the brain in two: maintaining the interaction and groove with the drums in the left hand while shaping the melody/harmony in the right in sync with the left hand. Both hands have to interact independently on many levels. Key Madness Duo is a project that I'd like to explore more in the future. This was the first show performing in this format. It was a lot of fun yet exhausting to maintain this level of independence, interaction, and precision for extended periods of time while having the brain conduct two functions simultaneously. I hope you enjoy! http://www.eldarmusic.com / eldar / eldarmusic / eldarmusic / eldarmusic Thanks to premium Patreon donors: Mitchell Pressman Gregory Pershing Nicky Byloo Jim Hoon Alex Tetradze
