Tasting what we thought was our first Italian 258 but turns out it is not

We thought this was our first Italian 258 fig! I took notice that it did not match the description or images of the Italian 258 variety. At first I just thought it was breba or a fluke but all the figs that ripened were the same and I have come to believe that the tree I bought as a I258 is in fact not a I258. This happens sometimes in the fig world, which is why it is important to buy from a reliable source. Even then sometimes it still happens if those growers deal in large quantities of trees. Mistakes happen. I have come to think it might be Peter's Honey but I am not sure about that either as i have a Peter's Honey and they do not match as far as leaf pattern or appearance. At any rate, we gave it a 5 for flavor, 2 for size weighing in at 46g, a 1 for production, and a 4 for almost no seeds. It is surely a keeper as far as flavor! Amazing taste! I have a Peter's Honey and I have ordered I258 cuttings and will update you as I compare these two to this variety a later time.
