Robert Francis "Bobby" Kennedy (November 20, 1925 -- June 6, 1968)Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F... Kennedy scored a major victory in winning the California primary. He addressed his supporters shortly after midnight on June 5, 1968, in a ballroom at The Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Leaving the ballroom, he went through the hotel kitchen after being told it was a shortcut,[51] despite being advised to avoid the kitchen by his bodyguard, FBI agent Bill Barry. In a crowded kitchen passageway, Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Palestinian-born Jordanian, opened fire with a .22-caliber revolver. Kennedy was hit three times and five other people also were wounded. George Plimpton, former decathlete Rafer Johnson, and former professional football player Rosey Grier are credited with wrestling Sirhan Sirhan to the ground after Sirhan shot the Senator.[52] Following the shooting, Kennedy was first rushed to Los Angeles's Central Receiving Hospital and then to the city's Good Samaritan Hospital where he died early the next morning.[53] Sirhan said that he felt betrayed by Kennedy's support for Israel in the June 1967 Six-Day War, which had begun exactly one year before the assassination.[54] His body was returned to New York City, where it lay in repose at Saint Patrick's Cathedral for several days before the Requiem Mass held there on June 8. The Requiem Mass concluded with the hymn, "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" sung by Andy Williams. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alistair... Alfred Alistair Cooke KBE (20 November 1908 -- 30 March 2004) was a British/American journalist, television personality and broadcaster.[1] Outside his journalistic output, which included Letter from America and Alistair Cooke's America, he was well known in the United States as the host of PBS Masterpiece Theater from 1971 to 1992. Originally named Alfred, he changed his name to Alistair when he was 22. In 1937, Cooke moved to the United States, starting what was to become a permanent emigration.[citation needed] He became US citizen and swore the Oath of Allegiance on 1 December 1941, six days before Pearl Harbor was attacked. Shortly after emigrating, Cooke suggested to the BBC the idea of doing the London Letter in reverse: a 15-minute talk for British listeners on life in America. In 1968, he was only yards away from Robert F. Kennedy when he was assassinated, witnessing the events that followed.
