Please see closing statement on third-party logo use at the bottom of this description. https://www.beyondatc.net/ https://www.simbrief.com/ See https://www.hypeperformancegroup.com/ This is a grounbreaking project, whilst other ATC add-ons are present - in additiona to VAT-Sim, BeyondATC has the capacity to make the world of ATC communicaitions and procedures - right from logging flight plans, to start-up, to taxiing and take off, to flight, to approachand arrival. This is principally because of its simple setup, its intuative interface, and of how the automatic functions (the setting of the radio frequencies on a button-click, the abilty to send commands initially via text, rather than speaking them out loud from the outset, and how the commands and responses are repeated back verbally. This takes a concept that should be central to simulation, and is intimidating to people, and takes them unwittingly on a learning excercise. This product is still in beta and there are many enhancements to come. For the moment, this software has transformed the sim already by recreating the sense of pilots being accounable to air-traffic contol. This tutorial inclused a very quick walkthrough on how to set up SimBrief to accomodate the H160. This method, of using a Cessna 172 as a base airframe and then altering this needs some refinement but will get you in the air. (The aspects of the flight plan tht are most likely to be affected are the flight-times). I am unsure of the procedures as to helicopters in terms of start-up and taxi - where, especially in the case of helicopters, most cannot do this - but the H160 can. Nonetheless, asking for clearance on a flight plan, being given an transition altitude and vector for onward flight is, I suspect, realistic. I will be encouraging BeyondATC to make adjustments for helicopters - but in the mean time, this is a fabulous step forward.
