Testing Sidekick vs. LG1 Race Hubs Using Data Acquisition: What was the difference?

We put the Sidekick hub to the test in real-world conditions by collaborating with Nick from Downamics. Using their advanced data acquisition tools, we compared the Sidekick hub’s performance against our LG1 Race hub. The setup included a data logger to map speed and track details, along with a linear potentiometer on the fork and shock to measure suspension position and speed. To assess the impact of kickback, we analyzed crank accelerations, showcasing how the Sidekick hub performs in practical scenarios. The testing was done with Ryan—an everyday rider and mechanic for the Kenda NS Bikes UR Team—proving that the benefits aren’t just for the pros but also for the average rider.
