Multiple color block printing using mounted linoleum, a simple registration jig with pins, water-washable oil ink, and manual printing. All of this can be done at home. Please be very careful with the cutting tools. Keep all body parts (for example: fingers) behind the cutting blades and not in front of or on the side of the blades. In this approach, the key block is the main image, often fully resolved and able to be accepted as a stand-alone image. It is typically printed in black (but not always), which is why in process printing (CMYK) the "K" is often mistaken to mean "black" (when in fact it means "key").
