Armitage on June 14, 1901, with copyright registered only in 1903, like all AM&B productions up until then. 1) It was intended to be an adaptation of a representation of the famous painting "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli. A boy places two signs on each side of the stage announcing the name of the film; then two extras open the scene where a model emerges from inside a giant shell.
