Is traveling to Robe, South Australia on your Bucket List? This small town and surroundings completely blew us away. Driving from Melbourne to Robe took about 6 hours. We made Robe our base and stayed there for 7 days. We spent first few days driving and swimming on Robe’s iconic long beach. After couple of slow days, we spent a day doing iconic Robe to Beachport drive. We captured this in Day 1 in our video. The drive was relatively smooth and we managed to have some fun on the sand dunes close to Beachport. The boys had a bit of fun and we did couple of recoveries, some people lost some bets. :) As the storm was rolling in and we had families with us we decided to call it a day. On Day 2, we left Robe and travelled directly to Beachport on the Southern Ports Hwy. We had a quad bike join us on Day 2. Within 5 minutes of getting into the drive we run into couple of cars that were stuck in the soft sand section of the beach. The quad bike went to recover bogged Landcruiser 79 and to our surprised the quad bike was able to pull out and recover LC79. For the rest of the day we enjoyed claiming sand dunes near Beachport and at the end of the day we spent sometime claiming a massive sand dune, which Ford Raptor managed to claim first. If you are after a fun time, driving on the sand with wonderful beaches you have to visit Robe and Beachport.
