This us our true HD (4K 60fps) V1 solo Cyndaquil/Typhlosion playthrough of Pokémon Gold for the Game Boy Color. This challenge only allows us to use our starter Pokémon from start to finish (minus the need for Pokémon with HMs for use outside of battle.) This is our first attempt at this solo Cyndaquil challenge on Pokémon Gold, which was very poorly routed. One of the bigger glaring issues with this playthrough was choosing the starting day of Wednesday, which completely blocked one of the needed Rare Candy. The day was changed to Thursday at some point before reaching that part, but it was extremely rough. This playthrough will receive a Version 2 update at some point in the next few months. Please note that these playthroughs are not done in one sitting and are often made with multiple takes. There is a lot of soft resetting in areas that is not shown on-screen, such as soft resetting for the starter, or re-doing risky battles as some examples that would otherwise make the video drag out longer than necessary. There will be many solo challenges attempted across various Pokémon games in anticipation for the upcoming releases of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
