Hurco Quick Training Session 1: Using Helix & Threadmill On Your Hurco CNC Mill (2020)

In this first Hurco Quick Training Session, we go over using Helix, and Thread Milling on your Hurco CNC mill. This is not an overly complex topic but it is something we can go over in a relatively short period of time and is something that the apps department still receives quite a few questions over for machinists in the field. You would use the Helix function to get holes without drilling, needing a center cutting endmill, or where the fixturing is not the strongest and you don't want a lot of side load since most of the load will be in the Z-axis and not just the side. You would use the Threadmill function when the thread is too large, and a tap is either going to require too much torque or be too expensive.
