On December 3rd, 2023, officers in Ohio responded early in the morning to reports of a possible physical fight in an apartment complex. The call, made by a neighboring resident, alleged hearing loud arguments and physical altercations from the apartment above. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers encountered a male and a female resident who were both visibly intoxicated and involved in a heated exchange. The situation escalated when the male attempted to retreat back into the apartment, prompting officers to intervene physically to prevent him from closing the door. As officers worked to de-escalate the situation, the female became increasingly aggressive. She obstructed the officers as they tried to handle the situation with the male resident, leading to her being forcibly restrained and subsequently arrested. Both individuals resisted arrest, complicating efforts to investigate the initial complaint. As the officers attempted to remove the male involved from the complex, the situation escalated as both suspects fought officers. After arresting both individuals, officers escorted them to separate patrol vehicles, where they continued to yell and resist officers. Upon being placed in the patrol vehicle, the male suspect kicked the patrol vehicle’s door before securely placing him inside. Officers transported both suspects to jail. The male suspect was charged with Obstructing Official Business, Failure To Comply With the Order Or Signal Of Police Officer, and Disorderly Conduct.
