The Los Angeles Clippers are a Los Angeles-based American basketball franchise. The Clippers are a National Basketball Association (NBA) team that competes in the Western Conference's Pacific Division. The Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League all share the Crypto.com Arena as their home venue (NHL). By 2024, the Clippers hope to relocate to the neighboring Inglewood Intuit Dome, which will serve as their new home. As an expansion team, the franchise was established in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves. During their eight seasons in Buffalo, the Braves, who were coached by Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo, made it to the NBA playoffs three times.
