Getting ready to sow --- Propagators and coir compost --- The waffle is back!
Having moved house, we currently have no kitchen garden or greenhouse. However, we do have lovely neighbours, who just happened to install a new greenhouse last year! So this year we are working together to grow the usual greenhouse crops - peppers, chillies, cucumbers, and tomatoes. In this video I am preparing for the first sowing of peppers and chillies. I talk about the benefits and potential drawbacks of starting outdoors in heated propagators and then prepare my usual sowing medium - a mixture of coir, sieved multipurpose compost, and vermiculite. I also show how to prepare a compressed coir 'brick' for use.
