This year has been pretty wet and the design of having the high tunnels be on contour with walkways lower than the surrounding area has helped tremendously in making them almost completely self watering. One high tunnel hasn't been watered one time this whole season!!?! Kind of amazing. With more mulch, deeper soils, and denser cropping with deep tap rooted plants involved, I think we can evolve this system into a nearly self maintaining ecosystem...
