Cross Country Koalas: Noorundi and Iluka's Journey to John Ball Zoo

It was no easy feat to bring male koalas, Noorundi and Iluka, to John Ball Zoo this summer. Hear from Area Supervisor, Jaime Racalla, as she recalls the koala's journey from San Diego to Grand Rapids! We're throwing one last "hoorah" for Noorundi and Iluka before they leave John Ball Zoo. Koalapalooza will take place September 3rd-5th from 9:00a.m.-6:00p.m. with live music, strolling animals, and a cookout in the Zoo! A special "thank you" to our generous partner, Amway, and to Amway Pilot and long-time Zoo Volunteer Todd Urbanski, for transporting the koalas safely. We also want to thank the San Diego Zoo's Koala Conservation and Education Program for making it possible to have koalas in Michigan, and to San Diego Zoo Wildlife Care Specialist, Jenny, for her time spent training our staff.
