So you wish you were sport climbing, huh? My friends Pat and Anna were crazy enough to drive the 7 hours from Seattle to Smith Rock and pick up me and my camera on their way. Even with the long drive ahead of us, we thought we could leave early enough to get in a good bit of climbing before the sun went down. So we left the Portland city limits at about noon. Thankfully, we arrived just in time to snag the last illegal parking spot in the crowded lot!
