This video contains spoilers. Moonlight is a decade-defining movie, and I wanted to take a look at how Barry Jenkins crafted this story of empathy, identity, and masculinity. Even as someone who can't directly relate to the characters, I find the film to be incredibly moving. I made this video because I want more people to see Moonlight as a human film that transcends stereotypes and helps us understand people who we might not interact with normally. "The tender, heartbreaking story of a young man’s struggle to find himself, told across three defining chapters in his life as he experiences the ecstasy, pain, and beauty of falling in love, while grappling with his own sexuality."
