We’ve talked about the great hidden gems of the '70s and '80s and we’ve talked about overplayed songs from the rock canon that could use some rest I’ve suggested other ones that we could listen to, to give them a break but today I want to talk about songs from major artists that are every bit a great as some of their biggest hits… I’m calling the show JUST AS GOOD. here are the top 5 songs that are just as good as the most iconic tracks from major artists that you can add to your playlists. Let’s get into it. Coming in at #5 - So we just covered one of the greatest songs ever with Crowded House’s classic standard Don’t Dream It’s Over but a track from their later album Wood Face is just as great… "Fall At Your Feet" is such a stunningly beautiful and heartwarming song that it’s hard to believe Neil Finn wasn’t joking when he revealed the first verse he wrote for it: ‘Fly away little bird, fly as fast as you can, don’t get in the way of this approaching man, because he’s insane.” But, those were the words that began an exercise in lyrical Tetris for Neil. Eventually, he put the pieces together that formed that gorgeous chorus:"And whenever I fall at your feet You let your tears rain down on me? Whenever I touch your slow-turning pain. Neil began writing “Fall at Your Feet” at his residence on Osborne Street in Melbourne. It was one of the songs that were initially meant for an album that Neil was going to make with his older brother Tim, as the Finn Brothers, but once the sessions wrapped, Neil Finn reunited with Nick Seymour and Paul Hester to start work on Crowded House's third record. However, Capitol Records wasn’t sold on most of the new material. Faced with this hurdle, Neil turned to his brother Tim and asked if the band could use some of the Finn Brothers’ songs. Tim agreed—with the caveat that he would join the band.
