A NEW COLLAB VIDEO with Evelyne from CulturEatz! Evelyne challenged us with Tourtiere ( French-Canadian meat pie ) & we challenged Evelyne with Jerusalem Mix ( Israeli street food ). We get to learn and try recipes we would probably never try if it wasn't for doing these YouTube collaborations. Evelyne has a great channel named CulturEatz. Her channel is a delicious blog and vlog featuring international dishes, exotic meal ideas, easy prep recipes and fun foods made with spices and exotic ingredients. Evelyne also shares interesting videos from her travels around the world. Go to her channel and check her out!! https://goo.gl/FohKTH When Evelyne suggested challenging each other with a traditional food - we thought to ourselves - Well, Evelyne is very experienced with cooking so let's try and give her something that won't be too easy for her, and that will be very unique. So we asked her to prepare - Jerusalem Mix :) for those of you who have no idea what it is - go and check out Evelyne's video and see :    • JERUSALEM MIXED GRILL RECIPE I got CHALLEN...   In return, we got a mail saying - "Oh boy, you are taking off the big gloves with liver and heart lol, you are ON!" lol!!! And so Evelyne challenged us with a traditional French - Canadian meat pie, AKA Tourtiere. What goes around comes around ha?! hahaha :) Till this point, we have never heard of this meat pie but thank god for the internet :) We found out that: Tourtiere, also known as pork pie or meat pie, is a combination of ground meat, onions, spices, and herbs baked in a traditional pie crust. Here's the recipe we used for making this pie - https://growagoodlife.com/tourtiere/ We didn't have ground cloves so we did it without it and we did add dried chili pepper. We really hope we got it right... We're waiting to see and hear Evelyne's response to our Tourtiere!! :) It was good, but unfortunately, once again, we fail with the meat quality... The pork meat we bought was terrible... and you could totally feel how it's ruining the entire dish. We really hope that someday in the future we'll be able to taste a real tourtiere. Maybe next Christmas?! ;))) Evelyne!
