ArangKel is a mountain top village and meadow in the Neelum valley on Kashimir. Surrounded by mountains like an amphitheatre or a colosseum it gives a feeling of grandness to everything. It is accessed from the village of Kel on the banks of Neelum river. You can either trek to the top or take a cable car to cross the river and half the hight and the trek from there. The trek from Kel takes about 2 hours where as from the cable car drop off point around 50 minutes. Good thing is it is still not spoilt by development. stay in wooden shacks, enjoy the starlit sky and the cool breeze making you chill. On a clear day you can see the Sarwali peak also know as Tosheri the highest peak of Kashmir valley on the Nanga Parbat massif. However, Nanga Parbat is hidden behind the Baboon Top mountain. You can do treks in the surrounding forest and the meadows or just relax under a pine tree but this is not a place to miss in your trip to Kashmir.
