Central RR of Indianapolis Loaded Grain Westbound En Route to Gilman, IL

This Central Railroad of Indianapolis (CERA) crew has a 48 car grain train loaded with soybeans heading west towards Gilman, IL and the Incobrasa soybean processing plant located there. This train was loaded at Kokomo Grain’s Kokomo elevator located about two miles southeast of here. For good measure there is a single tank car at the tail end of the train. Has me wondering if it’s an empty for soybean oil loading at Incobrasa. Today’s train is powered by TP&W 3440, an SD40-2 which began its life as the UP 3630 and later was the RCP&E 6403 and TP&W 5010, a GP50 that began its life as SLSF 3100 and was quickly rebranded as the BN 3100 as it was delivered at the time of the merger between those two railroads.
