***FOLLOW-UP VIDEO: • The RCT1 Spinning Coaster in REAL LIFE (Pl... This video examines the real world inspiration behind each coaster type in the original Roller Coaster Tycoon games. Turns out, nearly every coaster type in the game was based off of an actual coaster model, even the wacky ones. ------------------- Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:47 Vanilla RCT1 05:52 Added Attractions/Corkscrew Follies 09:36 Loopy Landscapes 11:47 Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 ------------------- PHOTOGRAPHS -Credit for the photograph of Kumba at 7:57 belongs to Chris Yarbrough (@c.y.photos on Instagram). -Credit for the photograph of both PTC trains (Comet and Ravine Flyer II), both Ladybug coasters (Zierer Tivoli), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Revolution, Shockwave (Schwarzkopf), Wildcat (Schwarzkopf), the Vekoma Boomerang, Buzzsaw Falls, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Leap the Dips, Oblivion, Pteradon Flyers, and Scooby's Ghoster Coaster belong to Joel A. The Mini Coaster (Rocket Cars) were likely inspired by Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Space Invader II, despite its resemblance to the American-made Space Mountain. 2. There WAS a single-rail motorbike themed coaster! Motor Cycle Chase at Knott's Berry Farm, which was actually later re-themed to the Wacky Soap Box Derby ride seen in the video. 3. RCT1 included a train with 2-across seating on the Inverted Roller Coaster, based off of the sole Giovanola inverted coaster built at South Africa's Gold Reef City. 4. The B&M flyer was not in RCT1, but the Lay Down coaster was.
