A 42-year-old man, **Malkeet Singh**, who lived in Italy and had returned home on vacation, was **shot dead while sowing wheat in his fields**. According to family members, the incident occurred when Malkeet was working in the fields with his father, **Surjit Singh**, and a friend, **Sukhbir**. During this time, a villager named **Vikram Honi**, accompanied by an associate, arrived at the spot and **opened fire on Malkeet**, killing him on the spot. Malkeet’s sister, *Palwinder Kaur**, told the media that her brother worked hard in Italy and always helped his father with farming whenever he visited home. After being shot, Malkeet reportedly called his mother, saying, *“Vikram has shot me… please save me.” Moments later, he collapsed due to his injuries and died while being taken to the hospital. The family alleges that Vikram Honi is a *local gangster* who was previously named in a *bomb blast case* and had recently been released on bail. They claim the murder was *a planned conspiracy**, not a result of any personal feud. Palwinder Kaur urged the government and police to **arrest Vikram and his accomplices immediately* and ensure the harshest punishment. Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered against *Vikram Singh of Dhariwal Tokan village* based on a statement by the victim’s father, Surjit Singh. Over *ten empty bullet shells* were recovered from the scene, though *no arrests* have been made yet. Authorities stated that the investigation is underway and the culprits will be caught soon.
