This week we're harvesting #purple veggies and sweet strawberries from our garden, turning them into delicious meals and an easy sheet pan cake that our son helped make! We didn't grow up with a garden, but watching him plant watermelon seeds, ask about chickens, and choose to create instead of consume fills us with so much hope. Gardens teach us to slow down and be present, showing us that the best things take time, and it's incredible how naturally kids embrace this way of living when given the chance. We're doing our best to live sustainably here in #Canada and raise a little human who understands we're all connected to the earth and each other. We completely fell in love with growing a garden not only because we get fresh, homegrown food but we also cultivate a deeper connection to where our food comes. Our gardening journey has allowed us to grow on windowsills, a balcony garden, community gardens, to a thriving backyard garden jungle. When our summer season ends, gardening never stops for us. We found a way to keep on growing indoors, using a garage grow tent, hydroponics, laundry room and even a basement grow room. We just love to experiment and to try new things.
